Product overview
Shark Steam & Scrub: What to Know
Its removable tank holds 350 ml, or about 11.8 ounces, smaller than BISSELL's or Dupray's tanks here, and Shark's manual states steam begins in roughly 20 seconds. The unit draws 1,120 watts on a standard 120V outlet.
Shark's own manual is specific about where not to use it: unsealed wood or unglazed ceramic floors are called out directly, along with leather, wax-polished furniture, and delicate fabrics like velvet. On the surfaces it is built for, cleaning comes from two counter-rotating Dirt Grip Soft Scrub pads that Shark says deliver over 150 scrub passes per minute, plus the Steam Blaster's Light, Normal, and Deep modes for adjusting intensity on tougher messes.
Cord length is one spec that isn't perfectly consistent across sources: Shark's own materials commonly list 22 feet, while at least one major retailer's listing for the same SKU shows 19 feet. It's a small discrepancy, but worth confirming against the box if a long reach matters in your home. Shark also sells this rotating-pad mechanism across a fairly crowded lineup, S8000, S8001, S8200, and S8201 all share compatible parts according to Shark's own accessories page, but the Steam Blaster's three-mode burst and LED headlights are specific to the S8201 (and S8200 series), not every SKU in the family.
