Product overview

Whisker Litter-Robot EVO: What to Know

Litter-Robot EVO is a genuinely separate, currently sold product from Litter-Robot 4, not a rebrand or a leftover older generation; that distinction matters because Whisker has discontinued its original Litter-Robot 3 line before, so it isn't safe to assume every model still listed under the Litter-Robot name is current. EVO uses SmartScale weight sensors instead of the laser system on the 4, sifting after each visit and using Whisker's QuietSift technology to reduce cycle noise. Whisker rates it for one to two cats between 3 and 19 lbs, including large breeds such as Maine Coons, and kittens under 3 lbs need a semi-automatic mode rather than full Automatic Mode.

At 20.6 x 24.3 inches with a 27.6-inch height, EVO occupies about the same amount of floor space as a standard open litter box, and Whisker specifically markets it for apartments, bathrooms, and tight corners where the full-size Litter-Robot 4 wouldn't fit. Unlike some rival boxes, Whisker states EVO can sit directly on carpet as well as hard flooring. The waste drawer is sealed with a replaceable carbon filter and, for a single cat, is rated to go about a week between emptying.

The Whisker app requires a 2.4GHz WiFi connection and delivers real-time notifications, remote cycle control, and a 7-day activity and weight history for free, with the paid Whisker+ tier extending that to two years. At $599, EVO costs $100 less than the Litter-Robot 4 configuration in this guide, which tracks with its smaller cat-count rating; households with three or more cats should size up to the 4 instead of stretching EVO past its stated limits.

Check before buying

Verified against the live Amazon listing (ASIN B0G6GDC4VN). The fetch briefly returned a "cannot be shipped to your delivery location" banner, which we cross-checked via search rather than treating as unavailability; the listing is confirmed live and in stock in the US at $599
Confirmed EVO is a distinct, still-current SKU from Litter-Robot 4, with its own footprint, weight range, and cat-count rating, rather than assuming it was current just because Litter-Robot 4 is
Whisker's own retail listings and multiple current Amazon EVO pages show units sold and shipped by Whisker directly, consistent with how Litter-Robot 4 is sold

Quick Answers

Can EVO handle more than two cats?

Whisker rates EVO for one to two cats. Households with three or more cats should look at the larger Litter-Robot 4 instead of exceeding EVO's stated limit.

Does EVO work on carpet?

Yes. Whisker states EVO can sit on carpet or hard flooring, unlike some competing boxes that require a hard, level surface.
