Product overview

Simpson MegaShot Gas Pressure Washer: What to Know

Per the listing's own feature bullets, this MegaShot is described as easy to assemble and easy to start, powered by a Honda GCV170 premium residential engine aimed at decks, patios, outdoor furniture, house siding and prepping exteriors for painting. A maintenance-free OEM Technologies axial cam pump delivers 3000 PSI at 2.4 GPM with thermal relief built in to prevent overheating during extended use.

A standout inclusion versus the other washers in this guide: it ships with a 15-inch surface cleaner featuring two powerful rotating jets, which Simpson states clean flat surfaces roughly 3 times faster than a standard spray wand by covering a wide, even swath instead of a narrow streaky pass. It also includes a MorFlex 1/4-inch by 25-foot high-pressure hose Simpson describes as non-marring, flexible and abrasion-resistant, plus 4 quick-connect nozzles (0°/15°/40°/soap).

This listing has a notably smaller review sample than the other four products in this guide (roughly 79 ratings versus hundreds or thousands elsewhere), so weigh its 3.8-star average with that smaller sample size in mind rather than treating it as equally statistically stable.

Buying questions

Quick Answers

Why does this listing have far fewer reviews than the others in this guide?

We don't have visibility into Amazon's exact reason, but the ASIN we verified is a specific Honda-engine MegaShot configuration, and review counts can vary significantly between closely related SKUs even from the same brand and product line. Weigh the 3.8-star average with the smaller roughly-79-rating sample size in mind — it's less statistically stable than the thousands-of-ratings samples elsewhere in this guide.

Is the bundled surface cleaner compatible with other pressure washers too?

Simpson's own description covers it as bundled specifically with this MegaShot unit, using a standard quick-connect fitting typical of most residential gas pressure washers, but confirm compatibility with your specific pump's connector type before assuming it will fit a different brand's unit.
